Monday evening’s Premier League televised encounter with Manchester United at the Molineux was a game plenty of fans were relishing.

On our return to the top flight as Championship Champions in 2018/19, we took a point from our trip to Old Trafford before we took a double home 2-1 win in both the league and the FA Cup quarter-finals, so whilst it was never going to be an easy tie, fans were hoping for another home victory.

Although we didn’t get the victory, Manchester United opened the scoring through Anthony Martial, but ever reliable Ruben Neves had us back on level terms ten minutes after the halftime restart. Proper chances were few and far between, and we did hit the woodwork, but equally needed to rely on a Rui Patricio penalty save to secure a point from the night.

All in, it was a good response in the second period, so we move onto the next one.

Speaking to the BBC following the full time whistle, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo said of the tie.

“I’m pleased with the performance. In the first half United controlled the game and pressed very high. In the second half the reaction was very good. I’m proud of all the performance. Adama Traore helped the team when he came on. He’s about that. The squad is about managing the options you have. When Neves lined up the shot for the equaliser I was hoping, not expecting. He has fantastic technique.”
